POVERI DIAVOLI. Le rivolte contadine del 1525 nel Principato Vescovile di Trento
Five hundred years later, the exhibition will retrace the turbulent months of the peasant war that shook the Trentino region, calling into question political, religious and social structures. Through archival documents, works of art, work tools transformed into weapons, iconographic materials and multimedia tools, the exhibition will recount the complexity of a movement that saw the rural classes as protagonists and their challenge to the established authority.
The exhibition is part of the Euregio cultural programme “1525–2025. Museum. Pensa oltre!” and is the result of a collaboration between the Tridentine Diocesan Museum and numerous research bodies and cultural institutions. In addition to providing a historical overview, the initiative invites visitors to reflect on current issues such as social conflict, power and representation, offering insights into the past and present.
