On Thursday, 19 June at 5:30 p.m., we look forward to welcoming you to the Tapestry Hall of the Museum for the presentation of the book “Palazzo Pretorio. From Episcopal Residence to Home of the Tridentine Diocesan Museum: A Centuries-Old History.”
The volume retraces the historical, architectural, and institutional development of the Palazzo Pretorio in Trento, the heart of medieval episcopal power and today the seat of the Diocesan Museum. The result of an interdisciplinary research project launched by the museum in collaboration with the Municipal Library and Archives, the University of Trento, and the Superintendency for Cultural Heritage and Activities of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the book explores the transformations of the building from the Roman period to the contemporary era. The work offers a rich, layered picture, drawing on archival sources, architectural surveys, archaeological data, and reflections on restoration, making it a valuable resource for scholars, professionals in the field, and enthusiasts of local history.
